Dr. Jordan Butay, PT, DPT, COMT

IMG_4450.jpg

Jordan Butay, is a dedicated physical therapist with roots deeply embedded in the island of Oahu. His academic journey led him to the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Health Science. Driven by a profound interest in movement as a healing modality, he pursued and obtained a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas. Jordan’s professional path then took him to Arizona, where he served as an outpatient therapist for over three years. An opportunity subsequently arose that allowed him to move closer to home and start a family which brought him to Maui.

Throughout his clinical engagements, Jordan has been inspired to adopt a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on the individual rather than merely the injury and blending his care with evidence based research. Jordan focuses on helping athletes return to their sports, guiding individuals through pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, and facilitating the restoration of each person's optimal functionality, enabling them to resume the activities they cherish. To refine his skills, Jordan participated in several advanced courses in orthopedic and manual therapy. Furthermore, he achieved the status of a COMT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist) through OPTIM Physical Therapy, thereby broadening his ability to address a diverse array of orthopedic and musculoskeletal ailments.

Outside of Jordan’s professional life, he is passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle. He finds joy in exploring the natural beauty of Hawai’i through hiking or just sightseeing. Jordan’s love for the ocean is rooted from his high school years, during which Jordan actively participated in paddling and continues to stand up paddle/surf in his free time. He also finds pleasure in playing basketball, watching sports, and cherishing moments spent with his wife, son, and two dogs.

Dr. James Ludington, PT, DPT

James’ passion is helping people from all walks of life achieve their maximum potential. He graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Loma Linda University in 2011 and then completed an Orthopedic Residency with Team Movement for Life/USC in 2013.

During his career, he has had many amazing opportunities to work with weekend warriors, as well as professional, collegiate, and high school athletes, and loves to see each one succeed and follow their passions.

James also has a passion for preventative medicine and has performed onsite ergonomics training in various facilities and environments for both individuals and large groups, including a once-in-a-lifetime chance to work behind the scenes in the gorilla and primate exhibit at a zoo.

Outside of the clinic, James feels most at home doing anything by the ocean including swimming/snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayaking.  He also enjoys playing music, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and spending time with his friends and family.
